Conditioning the mind for success

I was given a link to this video that Tony Robbins had created which caused me to want to write this blog before I forget the key points and have to review his video. I probably will do it anyways to motivate myself. It is my third teachback blog to you.

Tony Robbins was discussing with two millionaires the process it takes for people to follow up or follow through to make their lives better or more complete. He was saying it takes hunger or the "must have or must do"attitude. The other reason is wanting to condition oneself. He said those who must have or must do is because the person is fed up with what they have now or their back is up against the wall. He also spoke about the person who wanted to condition his brain to a point where he could see the potential or the vision becoming a reality in the mind. The person would focus the mind on seeing it to be the true reality and then able to fulfill the vision by creating the habits to make it happen. It is the self fulfilling prophesy.

Now, these two millionaires told their stories on how excited it was to overcome the first barrier to get to where they are today. One of them said how he was excited that he made his first $2500 from his business. This is what made him see the potential to grow even more because of his hunger or must have to better his life was becoming his reality. He created habits to help him realize his goal after he saw his work come to fruition. The other millionaire spoke about his job at a video store. He read two magazines. One of the magazines was autotrader. He was looking to see which expensive car he was going to buy in his future. He could see that this particular car would become his. His boss tried to convince him that he is only disappointing himself by reading the autotrader and thinking he would get this car. His response to his boss was that he would come to the store in his car to return videos for his boss to reshelf.

Yes, I can relate to this aspect of the hunger driving me to become better. I need to change my life so that I can grow beyond where I am now. I do not want to be living my same habits a year from now and I would like to see that I have the potential to grow. I want to live great, not paycheck to paycheck. I am hungry for this. A year from now, I would like to say, "I did what I set out to do and I am different person than the day I wrote this blog."

I have to first see myself in my mind that I am going to buy a house in the next year because I will be successful in my business where I will have the money to purchase this house. What will it take to make it happen? What are the steps it will take to bring me to that true reality for me? Do I see this house as my house and do I see my success lead me to this reality? To be truthful, I will have some hurdles to overcome including my own scepticism. I have to work at this reality til it becomes ingrained in my thoughts and my heart. I have to take leap of faith in me and believe it can and will happen for me. I will get this house. I will be successful in my business.

It can work so easily the opposite way and it has done so. I had doubts and self criticism as well as fear of success. I say this because I live with failure everyday. It has become part of my life and I am comfortable with it. Its my crutch. Everyone has done this. We say that "it won't work" so we can have an excuse to why we don't succeed. Anything that is attempted falls to the waist side because of the self doubt. We don't even have to consider our family and friends who will certainly add their negative views. We are our own worst enemy on a daily basis. What do I say?

STOP thinking like that. Did it help you to become better or grow? NO! Try the other way since what you are doing now does not change a thing for you. Get that brain to condition for a better reality. Don't settle for mediocre.
