Be part of a "Group" that creates a "Culture" & "Momentum" in your "home business

Why it's IMPORTANT to be part of a "Group" that creates a "Culture" & "Momentum" in your "home business

Leverage

Friendship

Network

Know, like, and trust

Teamwork

These are generally the words that come to my mind when I thought about this question. It might be obvious or not as reasons being part of a group for your home business. Of course, this would go against thinking for people who are competitive and don’t want others to get their sales. Well lets drill down of why it works and makes you prosper.

If you ever remember being split into teams in certain classes to complete a project, you had to split up tasks to complete a group presentation. For the most part, the instructor gave the reason of teamwork to do it like this. Also, it was easier to grade on lesser presentations. This also carried over to the workplace to help create a culture or be part of something greater than him or herself.

If you have your own business, you generally would not want others to get in your territory. You did it all by yourself so why would you want others to know your game plan? Yet, you had to market to the public. How can you let others what your product or service was about if you did not advertise? Word of mouth generally yields better sales leads than an ad in the newspaper or telephone book.

When you are trying to find like minded people who share similar interests, it might just be in your personal life. Maybe you are a single mom or dad looking for help for daycare. You see a parent in school or local park where the kids play together. You make some small talk which leads to….so, What do you do in your spare time? I do this or I do that…Oh, so do I. Also, my brother does that too. He can tell you because he belongs with this group of folks who meet once a week. His brother just happens to have leverage to get you in the door. He knows of other people who need that kind of work. He will’ introduce you. He has Leverage to help your business connections. You have expertise or product which his group members needs. Each may need lack some resources. However, if they combine the resources, they could leverage each other to achieve their business goals. People share resources so that each can benefit on an individual level.

Friendships are developed due to fact that they know and become familiar with another person who is willing to help” buddies be successful in similar businesses. As they grow and form the groups, a culture forms by nature. Group loyalties become evident both inside and outside. Everyone swaps favors. They invite each other to parties.

When you have comradary or friendship, you have the know, like and trust factor. Would you want to help a friend in business or someone you do not know?. I want to sign up under my buddy, Tom. He helped me on my last two projects. I want to show my loyalty and return the favor back to him. She went out of her way to help me fix my website. I want to buy into her project because I know she has it to get it to work.

As your business grows and you converse with group members, you begin to expand and start to meet others from introductions of team members. You can network because that person knows of another person. You begin to bring in your own network of people to other groups you may know with similar interests. Each person swaps information or join with your friends’ groups. Voila, you have a network.

All these play key roles into your own personal development for your business. You learn how to negotiate and the customer needs. You ask questions. You find out key interests. You work together to help others become successful. ALL Work together. No man is an Island onto himself.

I Am My Own Boss, So Why Do I Need You?

By Joanna Gasdogas

Having a home business can be very rewarding. For each task you accomplish there is always a sense of pride that comes with it. Yes, accomplishing something on your OWN, is very rewarding. But is it always like this? Aren't there times that you ask yourself, if I could only have.......'s opinion. We always feel that we could use someone's input when working on a project. After all the end product is not for yourself, but your audience and your peers. It is human nature to desire that interaction with someone. We are a social species.

As such, we are constantly under the scrutiny by our peers, whether we admit it or not. Yes, and that scrutiny is what keeps you going. And thank goodness for that or else we would be living in a bubble as hermits. This is why we NEED human interaction and engagement. Not only is it critical for getting input, but our peers and our audience keep us moving in a forward direction.

So what do we as persons working home alone, starring at a computer screen for hours? We reach out to others. Although, we take pride in our individuality as entrepreneurs, we still feel the need to be are a part of something bigger. What a better way than to reach out and start making friends online, and eventually find a group to belong to that we feel comfortable with and that shares our interests.

Now we are part of a group that has dynamics. As this group continues to grow, it starts to have a life of its own. The group slowly becomes a "mini community" as everyone starts to express their thoughts and opinions. Each individual within the group maintains their own personality, yet can rely on the support of a larger entity. As the group becomes stronger and bigger, with each individuals' breath and fingerprint, this "mini-community"' has slowly developed its own "culture".

And this group's culture is different than any other groups' culture, thus making it unique. This new culture now, stands proudly. And because no two people are alike in the group, a culture has formed with its own unique stamp on the internet, and stands out above the rest.

So now that we belong somewhere , does it mean we get all nice and comfy and sprawl our legs out on the sofa? No way! See although a culture is comforting, that aspect has its limits. Remember what I said about constantly being under the scrutiny of others? Well guess what, your own "culture" is constantly scrutinizing you. And I don't mean this in a bad way. It just keeps us on our tip toes and alert. There is always slight competition that occurs within a group. And that can be a very positive thing if it is utilized correctly. That sense of competition is what gives you that push and "momentum" to keep you keep going. This momentum is very contagious, so as soon as one person gets it, it spreads like a fire to everyone in the group. Momentum is a wonderful force because it creates an environment of productivity.

And when we feel like giving up and have lost all your breath, and are just a few yards away from the finish line, here comes OUR CULTURE, the Inner Circle, to help you get up and start over again.

Sour juice or lemonade

I was listening to a video from one of my online marketing coaches that was in my email today. I had to listen to this video a few times because it was a good lesson delivered with a funny story. He told his audience about having a sheriff come to his residence with papers. The sheriff explained that the landlord was making some illegal actions with other tenants and was sued. He lost in court and had to pay them back. The sheriff said that any rent money should be paid to the court and not the landlord for this reason. Of course, Mr Budd believed him and did not pay the landlord. The landlord even called him to see what happened to the rent. Mr Budd told the story about he had to pay rent to the court instead of him. A month passed and Mr Budd was served eviction papers where he had to leave with in 48 hours. After checking all this information out, he found out through some events that he was scammed by the landlord.

After contemplating all the events that happened which made him leave his residence, he decided he needed to take ownership of the whole mess that led up to his eviction. He also learned how the legal system worked. He said he felt empowered. He was determined to make this issue into a positive experience. He explained that results that a person produces is in direct correlation to the perception or the story a person tells himself/herself. The story you say to yourself can be empowering or can be negative in return. He explains how he could have been very angry toward his landlord. What a scammer my landlord is, he ripped me off, I am going to sue him, blah, blah, blah. He could be more angry and pissed off with his landlord and the situation. In turn, he also would have less energy because he exerted and wasted his energy toward being angry. This would have given him crappy results. Certainly all the wasted energy would not change the situation. He already lost his chance to explain his side in court. He had to pay court and moving costs. "Being right" feeling and being angry produces bad results..

Thinking of how this could be a negative experience, Mr J. Budd wanted to change his perception. The perception for this situation for him is take 100 percent ownership like finding out the real truth about not paying the landlord. He should have checked out the sheriff's story. His learning experience for him was to learn more about the legal system. This knowledge may help him in the future. With this thought process, he felt empowered, not angry, and more energy. It is not easy to live in this world. Ridiculous stuff happens to everyone. A person can choose to be or not be a victim. He chose not to be a victim. He will not be at the whim of life.

To reiterate, results will be based of story you tell yourself or how you perceive the world. Stuff happens for everyone. Its how we choose to deal with the situation can help or hinder ourselves. Powerful leaders and successful people tell themselves powerful stories because they understand that belief in positive truths are measurable differences in one's feeling toward life, attitude, productivity, energy. There is a quantifiable difference in how you feel and how you approach the world from the perception or story you tell yourself. You are in control of results you produce based from the stories you tell yourself and the way you choose to be. You have the power to frame life. view the world that empowers you. From the empowerment, you can grow and gain in strength from anything or any event.

Conditioning the mind for success

I was given a link to this video that Tony Robbins had created which caused me to want to write this blog before I forget the key points and have to review his video. I probably will do it anyways to motivate myself. It is my third teachback blog to you.

Tony Robbins was discussing with two millionaires the process it takes for people to follow up or follow through to make their lives better or more complete. He was saying it takes hunger or the "must have or must do"attitude. The other reason is wanting to condition oneself. He said those who must have or must do is because the person is fed up with what they have now or their back is up against the wall. He also spoke about the person who wanted to condition his brain to a point where he could see the potential or the vision becoming a reality in the mind. The person would focus the mind on seeing it to be the true reality and then able to fulfill the vision by creating the habits to make it happen. It is the self fulfilling prophesy.

Now, these two millionaires told their stories on how excited it was to overcome the first barrier to get to where they are today. One of them said how he was excited that he made his first $2500 from his business. This is what made him see the potential to grow even more because of his hunger or must have to better his life was becoming his reality. He created habits to help him realize his goal after he saw his work come to fruition. The other millionaire spoke about his job at a video store. He read two magazines. One of the magazines was autotrader. He was looking to see which expensive car he was going to buy in his future. He could see that this particular car would become his. His boss tried to convince him that he is only disappointing himself by reading the autotrader and thinking he would get this car. His response to his boss was that he would come to the store in his car to return videos for his boss to reshelf.

Yes, I can relate to this aspect of the hunger driving me to become better. I need to change my life so that I can grow beyond where I am now. I do not want to be living my same habits a year from now and I would like to see that I have the potential to grow. I want to live great, not paycheck to paycheck. I am hungry for this. A year from now, I would like to say, "I did what I set out to do and I am different person than the day I wrote this blog."

I have to first see myself in my mind that I am going to buy a house in the next year because I will be successful in my business where I will have the money to purchase this house. What will it take to make it happen? What are the steps it will take to bring me to that true reality for me? Do I see this house as my house and do I see my success lead me to this reality? To be truthful, I will have some hurdles to overcome including my own scepticism. I have to work at this reality til it becomes ingrained in my thoughts and my heart. I have to take leap of faith in me and believe it can and will happen for me. I will get this house. I will be successful in my business.

It can work so easily the opposite way and it has done so. I had doubts and self criticism as well as fear of success. I say this because I live with failure everyday. It has become part of my life and I am comfortable with it. Its my crutch. Everyone has done this. We say that "it won't work" so we can have an excuse to why we don't succeed. Anything that is attempted falls to the waist side because of the self doubt. We don't even have to consider our family and friends who will certainly add their negative views. We are our own worst enemy on a daily basis. What do I say?

STOP thinking like that. Did it help you to become better or grow? NO! Try the other way since what you are doing now does not change a thing for you. Get that brain to condition for a better reality. Don't settle for mediocre.

Leadership building skills are a lifestyle change

I am writing this blog as a teach back because it has some practical advise for anyone at any level. Its good to get back to basics.

So what does it mean to be a leader? First, it means you
have firmly made the resolution within yourself that you
will rise to the challenges of your life, and meet them with
the leadership mentality.

The mentality that there is no obstacle you cannot overcome,
no challenge which you can not endure, and no problem that will
cause you to give up your goals.

The leadership mentality is simple. It's having the confidence
and belief that if you truly focus your mind on something you
will have success...and you KNOW that you can help other
people do the exact same thing.

There are all sorts of leaders, with many different styles.
Some outspoken, some not so loud and in the limelight. But
the defining characteristic of a leader comes down to HOW MUCH
they help EMPOWER the people who are in their organization.

How much do they HELP their people believe in themselves, build
their confidence, and execute the tasks that create us money
in this industry efficiently.

That is the purpose of a leader...knowledge and execution.

So how do you become a leader you say? Simple...YOU BELIEVE
YOU ARE ONE.

Now here are some things that can help you believe you are a
leader.

1. When you are in the trenches everyday working hard FOR YOURSELF,
you will feel powerful, resourceful, and determined.

2. When you continuously empower yourself, educate yourself,
and inform yourself then you will know you have value to offer
others. Always be reading the newest books, taking important
courses, or staying connected with people in the field who know
what is working RIGHT NOW. Plug yourself in to empowerment and
watch yourself grow.

3. Give back. Do things selflessly for other people. Show
yourself how kind and caring you really are. Open up your
heart and take on a servitude attitude, like you are truly
on this planet to help...and that's what you really want.

But that won't happen unless you start taking action right now.
Unless you start implementing changes in your life to become
the leader you know you can be. If you don't do that...don't
expect anything very new to come into your life.

You get what you give. Start giving incredible things to
this world and you will get incredible things back.

Have a Vision to be Successful

I am writing this to blog because I have known people who have already quit this business for many reasons. Maybe its too late for those who have left or maybe they just need their own time to decide what they need. Those who have just come to this industry should read this message. This is one of my teach back blogs that I have learned from some inspiring marketing coaches.

A defining characteristic in the success of an entrepreneur is Vision.

The problem is many people get into this industry with one single thing on their mind and one thing only...Money. I do have to admit I was one of those at first. Many of those people are not creating the success they really want because as soon as their expectations aren't met right away...they quit.

You want to know why they quit? Because they have no vision.

There is not something of REAL POWER driving them. They are
being driven by images of success, and fantasies of how their
life would be if only they had money.

Do we think our problems go away just because we got money?

Do we think all of a sudden life magically transforms because
We've hit this goal in our head of having a certain amount
of numbers on a screen when we check our bank accounts?

Real wealth is developed inside of you. Wealth is something you cultivate within you...that ALLOWS you to create money. Money is not wealth. Money is a by product of Wealth. Wealth is something inside of you. Wealth is in your attitudes, thoughts, feelings, heart, mind, body, and soul.

And people WONDER why they aren't making money!!

Do you realize or see how powerful it is to have a VISION?
Do you know how powerful it is to have a purpose behind what
you do that is FAR above and beyond just satisfying your own
desires?

Teamwork Makes the Dream Work

In my pursuit to learn more about the business of affiliate networking and social media marketing. I met a few people involved in this team oriented online marketing group. They named their group Teamwork Makes the Dream Work. I learned about them in 2009. I have known about for the last two years. This team of people have a mission to help each other and others who join to be successful. They partner with each other to be successful and to achieve success instead of competing for the almighty dollar.

I have listened into their weekly radio show, Teamwork Radio(via blogtalk radio) on Tuesday evenings broadcasted at 11 pm Est. through their main link in their website or different links like blogtalkradio.com/nyactor. They come together to discuss the enterprises or ventures everyone in the team are striving to pursue. The discussions are lively and inspirational.

Teamwork Makes the Dream work uses a social media hub called Qubeey as another platform in addition to the group's website. Now, I must say that I really have not used it too much due to lack of my time. I try to get online to learn more about it when I have a spare moment. I try to use that time to build up my profile on the main Teamwork member site. However, I can say that it looks very dynamic. I will write more details on the qubeey in a later blog. You need a member to invite you to the Qubeey.

You can join this team if you are invited by a member like myself. You will have access to many resources so you can learn more marketing with different social media like twitter, facebook, qubeey, etc. In addition, you can create a profile on the site to introduce yourself to other marketing people like yourself. You have an opportunity to relate with other people in one location. You can create blogs if you need a place to blog about different topics with fellow members or share with others. You make your profile your own as long as you abide by the group's rules. Before you have access to all these sources at no cost, you have a few steps to take such as go through New member orientation to mentioned.

I have been involved with this group in an informal way before I became a member. I know this group is genuine. I have been away from online marketing for awhile. I came back to them because I know what they are about.

If you are interested in joining our group, please send me an email request to askmom66@gmail.com with your name, optional alternate email, some little information about you.
